This is part two of my ongoing investigtion into the Canary Mission. For part one, see /home/voxx-vindictae/blog/002_op-monoxide.html

I AM LEGALLY REQUIRED TO TELL YOU (THE READER) TO NOT ATTEMPT TO HARASS ANYONE NAMED IN THESE DOCUMENTS. I CAN'T STOP YOU IF YOU DO, BUT STAY SAFE.

I. A Change of Focus

>

In the previous part of my writeup on this campaign, I showed that the Canary Mission website was originally hosted under an Israeli ISP, and registered by Howard David Sterling (who, apropos of nothing, attended Columbia University in New York). From other investigations, we also know that The canary Mission site is funded through an Israeli company named "Megamot Shalom". Josh Nathan-Kazis wrote two extensive reports on the organization, citing data from the Israeli Registry. Most notably, Kazis was able to link the US-based Central Fund for Israel to Megamot Shalom, using an entry from the Tax return forms of the Helen Diller Family Foundation. The relevant donation is on page 31 of the PDF.

>

What the tax form shows is that funds to Megamot Shalom -- which acts as a front for the Canary Mission -- are first routed through the Central Fund for Israel, so that wealthy donors can claim it as a tax writeoff. It also shows that the donations were made in 2016. This will be important later.

II. Finding the Registry Data

>

It took me awhile to find the data cited by Kazis, mostly because I failed to realize that it wasn't likely to be written in English. Once I used the hebrew name for the company, I was able to find results.

>

According to the data given by the official registry (I've linked to the Hebrew page because the English page didn't contain any results and was throwing all kinds of analytics at me), The company has 11 employees and 7 board members (at the time of writing, two of these are unaccounted for), and was incorporated in 2016. The fact that the donations made by the Helen Diller Family Foundation were so close to the incorporation of Megamot Shalom is indicative of a higher level of familiarity with the organization than was previously assumed.

>

The board members are also listed, and can be accessed at the end of this article. Kazis' wrote their writeup in 2018, so the information is outdated. However, Kazis' claims that Jonathan Bash -- Former CEO of Israel-Advocacy media organization VideoActivism -- was and still is the current director of Megamot Shalom.

III. Other Information

>

In addition to the names of the board members, I also was able to locate an email address for the organization itself: megamotshalom@proton.me. This didn't turn up any connections that spiderfoot could find, but it could still be useful information.

>

I have other findings, but they're relevant to a lead that ought not be disclosed at the current time.
